Human Resources Onboarding Specialist

The Human Resources Onboarding Specialist is responsible responsible for ensuring that newly hired employees are properly onboarded with Passavant Memorial Homes Family of Services (PMHFOS) and that onboarding is completed in accordance with regulations, legal requirements, and PMHFOS standards. The candidate will demonstrate strong networking and communication skills, attention to detail, be self-motivated in collaboration with internal and external parties, and be able to work independently in a fast-paced environment.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES OF THE HUMAN RESOURCES ONBOARDING SPECIALIST:
- Conduct the onboarding of all new candidates per applicable regulations, legal requirements, and PMHFOS standards.
- Schedule and conduct all pre-employment background checks including motor vehicle records checks, criminal clearances, child abuse clearances, Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) fingerprint clearances, sex offender registry checks, U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) Office of Inspector General (OIG) Medicaid Exclusions checks, and all applicable out-of-state clearances, as required.
- Coordinate with PMHFOS’s pre-employment physical vendor to ensure timely completion and return of associated documentation for pre-employment physical, drug screen, and Tuberculosis (TB) test.
- Ensure that all associated candidate documentation is appropriately saved in the candidate’s employment folder prior to their planned orientation.
- Serve as point of contact with all candidates throughout the onboarding process, ensuring a pleasant and timely experience for all candidates.
- Coordinate extensively with the Recruitment Team, Human Resources team, and hiring managers throughout the recruitment and onboarding process.
- Prepare hiring paperwork and information packets.
- Create and provide all associated data and reporting associated with the onboarding process.
- Conduct virtual, in-person, and phone interviews, as required.
- Assist in attending job fairs and careers events.
- Other duties as assigned by the Vice President of Corporate Projects
REQUIRED SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE OF THE HUMAN RESOURCES ONBOARDING SPECIALIST:
- One year of onboarding experience, required.
- Proficient in the Microsoft Office, specifically utilizing Microsoft Outlook, Excel, and Word, required.
- Minimum 18 years of age, required.
- Solid understanding of applicable employment laws and regulations, preferred.
- Knowledge of Intellectual Disabilities/Mental Health field, preferred.
- Experience with Applicant Tracking Systems, preferred.
- Excellent communication skills, required.
- Strong attention to detail & organization abilities, required.
- Ability to work independently and with a team, required.
- Must be willing to travel to regional office locations.
